MCR Homes

My Move-In

  • I am the one that had to plan the move-in meeting, MCR Homes didn't.
  • MCR Homes didn't show to the move-in meeting, without telling me, and sent an email instead.
  • I discovered the flat I moved in wasn't finished

My Move-Out

After a horrible 1 year, my tenancy finally ended. But I was not out of the weeds yet.

  • MCR Home didn't want to tell me not to restore the flat to the state I received it in.
  • No move-out meeting
  • They wanted me to post the keys instead of simply giving it to them, while asking me the keys to do viewings.

This is still ongoing, I don't have the deposit back yet.

No Hot Water and Toilet Flushing Hot Water

My flat didn't have hot water. And to fix it, I had to pay for an electrician. Bill not reimbursed by MCR Homes The invoice of the electrician that came to fix hot water

As the flat never had hot water, I was the one to discover the hot and cold water pipes had been switched. This led to toilet flushing hot water and the shower unable to produce warm water, only hot or cold.
MCR Homes was not in a hurry to fix it, or compensate me for the troubles.

Fire Safety, Water Leaks and Email Communication

During my tenancy, I had concerns about the dilapidated building (leaks, mold and collapsing ceiling) and fire safety. Although MCR Homes has regular meetings with the fire brigade and the council is "actively working with MCR Homes", MCR Homes still maintains there are no fire issues and my concerns are invalid, misrepresenting the fire safety of the building. And as usual, they are not answering to your questions/concerns ... when they deign to answer.

Lack of security measures for access

You can freely access the sprinkler machine room and tamper with things, impacting the building's fire safety.

You can also see how MCR Homes purposefully gave anyone access to the building.

Advice to Deal With MCR Homes

MCR Homes does not behave in a respectable way, but they are ready to spend some efforts when the law is involved. You can find a few pitfalls to be on the lookout for when dealing with MCR Homes' deceptive practices.

YouTube Videos

I am not a Youtuber, I am a software engineer. I do not want to make Youtube videos. This fact is for me a measure of how far I'm willing to go. Losing time on building a website is another measure.

Move-in video

Moving into the flat, realizing MCR Homes duped me, I began recording my initial walkthrough of the flat with my phone. This footage was later turned into a YouTube video

The Washing Machine Sabotage

A rubber plug had been deliberately installed in the washing machine's drain.

I like to make music, so I've made a song about this ordeal
