Who am I?
Hello everyone! My name is Romain, and I'm a resident at MCR Homes. I've become increasingly disillusioned by my landlord's lack of responsiveness and professionalism. I created this website to inform and caution those considering purchasing or renting a property from MCR Homes.
My job: Software engineer
I am a software engineer (Senior Cloud Engineer). n. I founded a company in 2017, which unfortunately didn't succeed, and am now working in "the cloud". I hold a 5-Year Master's Degree in "Embedded and Real-Time Computer Systems," (akin to a major in robotics and industrial systems.)
Why did you move?
My previous employer, Napster UK, was liquidated due to insolvency. After two months of job searching, I found new employment in the High Wycombe area and began looking for a place to live. Having previously resided in a newly built property (by Lendlease), which was excellent, I was under the impression MCR Homes offered similar quality (high standards, good community, etc.). This led me to choose one of their flats. But I soon found out MCR Homes is just marketing and no delivery on promises
Did you visit the flat? Did you know about the holes?
Indeed, I noticed the holes during the visit. The letting agent from Chancellors assured me that these would be repaired and the walls repainted before my move-in. What responsible landlord would allow someone to move into an unfinished flat? That would be mental!
Where did you learn videos production?
As a child, I enjoyed playing with video effects, like VFX of me holding an "energy ball" or adding gunshots effects on plastic guns. During my time in engineering school, I joined the EPTV club, where I produced videos covering various events and parties.
How did you learn music production?
I'm a self-taught (and low skilled) piano player and sought to expand my skills in music production. I enrolled in a course from EDMProd.com and now have the ability to produce simple, non-professional music tracks. While working at Napster (music streaming company), I was doing music tracks about different things that were going on at work.
You talk about DIY. Do you know a bit about construction?
During my teenage years, my parents purchased a house that required significant renovations on the first floor. We removed carpets, demolished and rebuilt walls, added insulation, and more — I specialized in demolition using power tools. My brother currently works in construction, and I occasionally assist him on his projects.
